State University of Yogyakarta to the World Class University is the work done, State University of Yogyakarta along with all components and activist academic organizations to realize the international standard of excellence in the field of Teaching and Education Programs, Research and Publication, as well as the Organisation and Management Education. Realising the State University of Yogyakarta be a World Class University who has a work culture system that meets international standards to produce graduates who are qualified and excel in a global world. Planning and implementation of programs to prepare and encourage the accomplishment of UNY as WCU. The process and results can be accounted for accountability to stakeholders both locally, nationally and internationally. Task Force was formed consisting of various disciplines, committed and experienced in the development of World Class University pilot program.
For a student , that will help them understand and implement a global perspective, which in turn contribute to the ability to navigate the international association. For the lecturer, WCU will provide opportunities and wider opportunities to conduct international research, publish research results in international journals, and build international scientific community. Community service in order WCU can also contribute as a liaison and mutual understanding between peoples and nations. For the higher education institution, WCU will stub to the intrinsic and extrinsic transforms awareness toward systemic consciousness.
The long term goal is to realize the UNY become an international university with under 500 was also ranked universities in the world with aspects of sustained achievement of the components that have been targeted. Five-year program and annual program developed WCU and implemented in order to achieve medium-and mision. The programs developed WCU is the development of international-standard study program, international-standard curriculum, teaching and learning processes of international standard, international-standard assessment of learning outcomes, teaching materials and learning resources international standards, development of qualified international lecturers, staff development and other education personnel to support the WCU, facilities and infrastructure supporting the World Class University, ICT-based management in order to support the WCU, the International standard library to support the WCU, competent international student affairs, research and international standards of scientific publication, the Public Service (PPM) within the framework of WCU, and international cooperation and exchanges.
